Around Newark, good coaches book up before each season, so ask about waiting lists and package rates rather than single lessons. League sign-ups happen a few weeks before each season through a club or a local USTA captain. Camps and junior academies usually require a short evaluation first; ask about scholarship or sliding-scale spots, which many non-profit tennis associations offer.

IF YOU PLANNING ON MOVING INTO ONE OF THESE ROOMS IN THE NEWARK YMCA, LET ME TELL YOU NOW… DONT ! STAFF IS RUDE, UNORGANIZED, AND ARE ALWAYS IN THE CLIENT’S BUSINESS! NOT TO MENTION THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF HARASSMENT GOING ON IN THIS BUILDING FROM CLIENT TO CLIENT AND WE HAVE REPEATEDLY TOLD STAFF AND THE HIGH UP MANAGER ABOUT THESE ON GOING PROBLEMS AMD NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT IT. ITS LIKE THEY LOVE THE TOXIC STUFF AND ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO END UP IN A FIGHT OR WORSE, HURT! WE LIVE IN FEAR HERE AND YET THEY WANT TO RAISE THE RENT! THE ROOMS ARE HOT, NO AC WHICE MAKES YOU HAVE TO SLEEP WITH YOUR DOOR OPEN AT NIGHT WHICE IS NOT SAFE AT ALL. TRASH IS ALWAYS OVER FLOWING, RATS IN THE VENTS, PEOPLE SMOKING CIGARETTES IN THEIR ROOMS, JUST NASTY SHIT! SOME CLIENTS ARE DIRTY, BATHROOMS ARE NOT CLEANED DAILY, ESPECIALLY THE SHOWERS! YOU ARE BASICALLY BATHING IN THE SAME NASTY SHOWERS ALL MONTH! MY MOTHER WORKS FOR THE STATE SO THEY NEED TO HANDLE THIS OR I WILL! I HAVE NO PROBLEM TAKING THE YMCA TO COURT OR CALLING THE STATE OR THE HEATH DEPARTMENT! DO NOT MOVE INTO THE YMCA. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY, NOT YOUR WELL BEING!

Big fans in the hallway only get turned on when it time to mop the floors . Staff have air conditioning for them to work in a comfortable environment. Families have to keep door open just to get some breeze they working on portable air-conditioning something that they should’ve been working on way before the summertime started now babies and old people and children are suffering in a small hot room I don’t understand why the building wasn’t built with central air or the bathroom have windows so that air can circulate or vent 50 families on the floor and not enough appliances to cook anything no consideration and then they want people to hurry up and cook their food if you lay on the floor, it’ll feel much cooler

I was at the YMCA in Newark NJ having to mind my business and keep a quiet head , there was one in a situation with my roommate after many weeks of complaining to staff which is one of the twins, and two other regulars that work there remind you I never got to explain my side which is he continued to bother me shacking the bed turning on the light at 12:00am in the morning ect. I have emailed jorme king about meeting with him about this fauls alligations about my roommate coming to them about a fight we never hade, it's documentations on me coming to them about him and there was a staff present which is one of the twins, I am completely confused to why they refuse to see the complete story picture. Mr king has refused to even talk to me after trying to reach him on multiple times /emailed and called.

I can Honestly say the Staff are very disrespectful they try to belittle you an make you feel uncomfortable as well as the “counselors “ also the room me and my daughter stayed in was Extremely hot couldn’t even sleep we had to literally sleep with our door open I’ve seen Roaches it’s not as clean as they portray you would think this will be a place of assistance and help it’s not my best advice is too take what you can receive and Focus on your Goals and yourself when you know yourself as a person and your Purpose in life can’t Nobody not even the people who runs YMCA CAN TAKE THAT FROM YOU I have a voice and I will always speak my Truth that’s why when they try it I’m on it cause I’m too grown for the b.s like I said do what you gotta do for yourself cause these people could care less okay May God bless you all 🙏🙏💫 I am blessed
